In January 2020, the residents in and around Norrköping were invited to a Gravöl (funeral feast) for all the forgotten mobile phones and tablets tucked away in drawers all over our country. The visitors were encouraged to bring their old IT-devices for their final rest – or, actually, not so final. The 70 collected devices were sold to a recycling company and the profit was donated to Naturskyddsföreningen. An attempt to give something back to mother nature.
This event was also about to raising citizen awareness about circular economy and urban mining. Experts in these areas gave talks during the evening and the visitors engaged in a traditional quiz to test their own knowledge.
Above being part of coming up with the idea, planning and facilitating the event, I was also responsible for the graphics and visual language.
The event was covered here by LiU paper.
